Chapter 11 Page 27

Doubt comes in. And so does Mathon

Comic transcript

Bahram, still weakened and despairing a bit, lays on the concrete jetty at Montrose Beach as the sun rises, his wings splayed out and his red energy meekly drifting away from him in tendrils. Akiva's voice echoes in his mind: "He was all torn up with regrets. He really thought he should've saved Bahram before he became all... like that." Bahram scowls, thinking, "As if it even matters." Mathon appears over him out of nowhere. MATHON: "Not looking so good these days, are we, Nikita Polzin?" BAHRAM: "YOU." He sits up, fury returning to him. "You are the reason I am like this! You and your labyrinth!" Mathon presses a clawed finger to their lips playfully. MATHON: "Me?? Oh, I am your villain now? I thought this was Azrael's fault. Anyone but yourself, apparently." They laugh.
